Chelchele Ethiopia Single Origin 250gr

24,00 €Price

This exceptional coffee comes from Banko Chelchele, a village in the Gedeb Woreda of Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone, within the renowned Yirgacheffe coffee-growing region. Cultivated at elevations between 1,900 and 2,300 meters in fertile red clay soils, the coffee is produced by smallholder farmers for whom coffee represents both livelihood and tradition. During the October–December harvest, cherries are selectively hand-picked at peak ripeness, ensuring the highest-quality fruit reaches the processing site. The coffee is processed at the Banko Chelchele processing station, where careful attention to quality begins from the moment the cherries arrive. The station works closely with the local farming community, supporting producers through financial assistance, subcontracting opportunities and quality-based premium payments. This lot is produced using a Super Natural process, allowing the whole cherries to develop intense fruit character and exceptional sweetness during extended drying. The coffee is made from Ethiopia’s prized heirloom varieties 74110 and 74112, resulting in a vibrant and highly expressive cup. Expect layers of tropical pineapple and passion fruit, followed by the rich sweetness of blueberry jam and a distinctive cacao nib finish. A bold, intensely fruity Ethiopian specialty coffee with remarkable sweetness, complexity and depth.
