A roaster's job is not simply to achieve a particular roast color. The real objective is to unlock the full potential of each coffee. Every origin, variety, and processing method requires a different approach. A well-designed roast profile should balance preserving the coffee's identity with developing sweetness, body, and solubility.
For this reason, talking only about "light roast" or "medium roast" can be misleading. What truly matters is not the final color of the beans, but how they developed throughout the roasting process.
